A fiber optic adapter, sometimes called a coupler, is a small part of the total fiber optic network channel. The adapter is used to allow light transmitted to cross between two fiber optic cores terminated to fiber optic connectors with the lowest power loss. PAMIX fiber optic adapters are designed and manufactured to meet standard insertion loss, and are usually supplied with fiber optic patch panels and closures.
